ACADEMIC CHARITY WEEK AT THE FACULTY OF PR, JOURNALISM AND CYBER SECURITY
A week of academic integrity was held at the Faculty of Public Relations, Journalism and Cyber Security, in particular at the Department of International Relations.
During the week, students of the Department of International Relations attended four meetings dedicated to academic integrity, where they got acquainted with the following topics: “Codes of honor: the code of academic integrity of KNUKiM”, “Academic integrity in scientific research”, “New opportunities of the EU Erasmus+ program 2021-2027 The key direction of KA1 is Educational mobility.”
Academic integrity is fundamentally based on the agreement of all participants in the academic process of obtaining an education to adhere to the established rules and steadfastly fulfill the duties assigned to them.
Observance of academic integrity by students of education involves:
▪️ independent performance of educational tasks, tasks of current and final control of learning results (for persons with special educational needs, this requirement is applied taking into account their individual needs and capabilities);
▪️links to sources of information in the case of using ideas, developments, statements, information;
▪️ compliance with the norms of the legislation on copyright and related rights;
▪️providing reliable information about the results of one’s own educational (scientific, creative) activities, used research methods and sources of information.
Integrity is a necessary and important component of any transparent acquisition of knowledge – both integrity on the part of the teacher and the acquirer of higher education. Academic communities of integrity establish clear and transparent expectations and standards for maintaining fairness in relationships between higher education students, faculty, and administrative staff.
Students and teachers of KNUKiM can take an integrity course at Prometheus, where they receive certificates upon completion. Thus acquiring the status of the sole executor of his own ideas.
The students of the Department of International Relations express their gratitude to our Faculty of Public Relations, Journalism and Cyber Security for organizing this event and obtaining knowledge that will certainly be useful in further studies.
